Samir Nasri has revealed Pep Guardiola has enforced a strict sex ban at Manchester City that prohibits players from having relations after midnight.
The Manchester City midfielder is currently on loan at La Liga club Sevilla after Pep Guardiola insisted the Frenchman had returned to pre-season training “overweight”.
In a wide-ranging interview covering what it’s like to play under a manager with Pep Guardiola’s obsessive eye for detail, Nasri opened up on the Manchester City manager’s more unorthodox philosophies.
“[Sexual] Relations must be before midnight. Even if you have a free day the following day,” Nasri told L’Equipe du Soir.
“He told us this is how he managed to get the best out of Messi and Lewandowski, and for them to avoid the maximum number of muscular injuries. It’s so you can get a good nights sleep.”
The insights into Guardiola’s unique managerial techniques come just a month after Pablo Zabaleta revealed Guardiola has banned internet wi-fi at Manchester City’s training ground in the hope of fostering a stronger team spirit.

“He makes us have breakfast and eat lunch all together at the club, at the training centre,” Zabaleta told Argentinian television.
“The dressing room is on the bottom floor, three floors down. There isn’t even 3G connection there. We are incommunicado there.”
The former Arsenal man was forced to go on a weight loss programme under Guardiola before he made the move to Sevilla at the end of the summer transfer window.
“Guardiola told me that I was a mess, he told me several times and even kicked me in the butt, literally,”
“When I returned from holiday having had a year out with injury problems and personal life problems, I was a little out of shape.
“Not as much as what was said but a few, maybe, four kilos overweight. For Guardiola, over 2.5 kilos and you do not you train with the group.”
“He suppressed many things that were in the kitchen,” Nasri added.
“With Guardiola, on the first day of training, you know how you should play, how to squeeze and also how to stand off the ball. The next day, you have videos for everything that you have to do.”
Nasri has thrived at Sevilla since joining the club in August helping the Europa League champions to fifth in the table, six points behind league leader Real Madrid.
